23 Activity Report > Vétoquinol has continued to pursue its initiative promoting the rational use of antibiotics and has for several years now been working on the concept of Sisaab (Single Short Acting Antibiotic Injection), and on how to effectively combat acute respiratory diseases in cattle, while also minimising the risk of developing bacterial resistance to antibiotics. In 2010, the Group brought together global experts in pharmacology, clinical microbiology and buiatrics to share their expertise around this new approach to the treatment of bovine respiratory diseases and antibiotic therapy. This symposium provided the opportunity to participate in high-level scientific presentations at roundtable discussions on specific cases, by challenging preconceived ideas for the dissemination of good practices among rural practitioners.
