As such, it is a natural part of the objec- tives in the “Excellence 2016” strategic plan. By optimising available resources through the team’s day-to-day commit- ment to continuous improvement, the in- dustrial teams are able to respond to the Group’s major challenges. CLOSE AND RESPONSIVE PRODUCTION SITES Vetoquinol has nine production sites worldwide, producing nearly 29 million sales units in 2014. The sites are spe- cialised by galenic form. To optimise responsiveness and logistics costs, as a priority they serve the markets located on their continent, but are also able to supply the rest of the world. The new dry-formulation development and production workshop in Lure was designed with cutting-edge meth- ods and innovative technologies. The construction of the workshop has increased the Group’s production capacity to 200 million tablets. STRICT RESPECT OF STANDARDS The production of drugs for animals is ensured in strict respect of increasing- ly stringent pharmaceutical standards. The production sites are compliant with Manufacturing Best Practices. Through its commitment to national and inter- national professional organisations, Vetoquinol anticipates changes in reg- ulation so as to better adapt its produc- tion base. THE DARWIN PROGRAMME: CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT DAY-TO-DAY The teams are particularly involved in the Group’s long-standing con- tinuous improvement programme. The pro- gramme has, among oth- er achievements, gener- ated a 25% reduction in product lead times. The “Darwin” approach, a pillar of the Glob- al Industrial and Quality Division, was launched in 2009, the bicentenary year of the birth of Charles Darwin, a man who knew a thing or two about the need to adapt to one’s environment. The ap- proach aims to involve each employee in continuous improvement through their participation in optimisation pro- jects. FOCUS ON INDUSTRIAL PERFORMANCE Strengthened by its people, diverse cultures, organisation structure and technologies, Vetoquinol’s Global Industrial and Quality Division is at the heart of the system. Particularly involved in the Group’s continuous improvement programme, the Division is enhancing its efficiency on an ongoing basis.
