Vetoquinol Corporate brochure 2015

A CAPTIVATING STORY It all began at a pharmacy in the town of Lure, in north-eastern France near the Swiss border. Joseph Frechin drew on his entrepreneurial intuition to start up alongside his dispensary a business manufacturing pharmaceutical speci- alities for people under the name “Lab- oratoires biochimiques de l’Est”. He then had the idea of using the antiseptic properties of oxyquinoline to treat ani- mals. The remedy, baptised Vétoquinol, quickly made a name for itself, and Joseph Frechin added a veterinary de- partment to his laboratory. By 1970, to the immense satisfaction of veterinarians, the catalogue included over 250 products. INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION Stepping up growth and increasing exports, Vetoquinol was generating 20% of its revenues outside France by the 1980s. It created its first subsidiaries in the Netherlands, Ireland and Belgium. Vetoquinol set up an office in China in 2004 and created a subsidiary in India in 2009, followed by another in Brazil in 2011. Today, with 140 distributors and direct presence in twenty-five countries in Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific, Vetoquinol has developed a worldwide “network” with its 2,000 employees. A SHARED PHILOSOPHY Balanced growth hinges on robust roots. Those roots have been central to the Vetoquinol spirit since the very beginning.
